General Information

It is the aim of the school to provide every child with the opportunity to develop his or hers academic potential. Great stress is given to the development of skills in English and Maths. Reading is taught by synthetic phonics, arithmetic by much practical number-work as well as written exercises.

Children are given the opportunity to develop their creative skills in art, craft, drama and music.

Art, drama, dancing, science, p.s.h.e., history, geography and religious instructions are all included in a balanced curriculum which incorporates the National Curriculum guidelines, but goes far beyond.

High standards of achievement are expected and the needs of each individual are recognised and nurtured. In their final year, children are prepared for tests to gain entrance for their next school.

Although a Christian foundation, the school encourages mutual respect for all religions and welcomes children from all faiths. We foster a caring attitude amongst the children from the earliest age, together with a sense of responsibility and the development of each child's confidence.

Parents are welcome to talk to the teachers any morning before school. Mrs Collins is also available to talk to parents most afternoons.

Most of our children go on to independent schools such as Alpha Prep, North London Collegiate School, Haberdasher's, Heathfield, Orley Farm, St. John's, St. Helen's, St. Martins, Quainton Hall and others.
